Creative block…and tips to smash your way out of it

We are midway through February and with the dreary weather and cold nights it can be hard to get motivated. Call it a creative block, lack of inspiration or motivation, every now and again we all need a bit of help getting re-inspired.
Here are a few tips that have worked for me in the past:
Take a break- sometimes staring at the computer screen, blank canvas or sewing machine can leave you feeling disheartened so walking away for a few hours can help you come back refeshed and recharged.
Do something different- try a new craft, get a new hobby. Sometimes if your business is your hobby it can take all the fun out of it for you. So try something new and watch the new ideas pour in.
Take a different approach- look at things from a different angle. Sometimes taking the less obvious approach can inspire lots of new ideas.
Search out new ideas- Erin Darcy has kindly put lots of ideas on her blog Starving Artist Ink for us to try when we need some inspiration. Print them out, cut them up, then put them in a jar and pick them out randomly whenever you need some inspiration. It works!
Keep a notebook of ideas- I always carry a notebook around for fleeting ideas and doodles of designs that may come in handy in the future. Sometimes you can be inspired in the weirdest places, the bus stop, the supermarket queue or even the library. Make sure you write them down then you will always have something to look through when you feel a creative block coming on.
What do you do to get re-inspired?

Carrying around a notebook is what works best for me. I'm able to sketch out ideas and random bits of inspiration :)
I "keep a notebook" on my iPhone!! I type in little ideas of sculptures that I would (someday) like to make. When I'm feeling idea-free, I check them out.
Using a notebook seems a popular choice. Thanks for sharing ladies!
